FREE Ice Cream at the Lacey Museum

July 8, 2016 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us for the 2nd annual A Midsummer’s Ice Cream at the Lacey Museum. This fun-filled and educational evening organized by the Lacey Historical Commission will provide free ice cream donated by Costco (while supplies last). Event highlights include oral presentations by volunteers about Lacey’s rich and diverse history, Michael’s is once again sponsoring free craft stations for kids, the Lacey Fire Department is bringing its antique 1945 Seagraves fire engine, and musical entertainment will be provided by local singing quartets, Capital Blend and SoundWave. There will also be gallery guides, historic games and coloring stations.

To celebrate Lacey’s 50th anniversary there will be two special editions this year. The Puyallup Historical Society will be bringing Ezra Meeker’s covered wagon to tell the story of early settlers traveling across the Oregon Trail. And local actor Christopher Valcho will be performing as Bob Blume, known as the “Father of Lacey” the visionary businessman who built South Sound Center shopping mall and laid the foundation for Lacey to become a city.
