Camps for Teens

Film Camp at the Grand 

In Film Camp, students work in film crews of 5, supported by a filmmaker mentor and production assistant.

Together they develop and create a complete short film in just one week, presenting their finished work to family and friends. Camp director Jason Ganwich leads the program. More details below.

Film Camp Dates

  • Jun 24 – 28, 2019: Beginners Session 1, ages 10 – 14
  • Jul 8 – 12, 2019: Beginners Session 2, ages 10 – 14
  • Jul 22 – 26, 2019: Advanced Session 3, all ages (up to 18)
  • Jul 29 – Aug 2, 2019: Advanced Session 4, all ages (up to 18)

iD Tech Camp:

iD Tech Camps is a flagship program for students ages 7-17, located at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Bellevue College, University of Washington, and 150 other prestigious locations. Courses are offered in programming, video game design, robotics, virtual reality, 3D modeling/printing, filming, photography, and more. These week long day and overnight summer camps include hands-on, personalized technology instruction and a variety of fun summer camp activities. iD Tech courses are led by tech-savvy staff in a dynamic, pressure-free learning environment. Our goal is to help our kids gain a love of learning through building critical 21st-century STEM skills, and have fun while doing it.

The Tacoma Youth Symphony Association presents the Evergreen Music Festival

 
Session II of the Evergreen music festival is an amazing overnight camp at Central Washington University for Grade 9 through age 21 string, woodwind, brass and percussion musicians.  The week includes full orchestra rehearsals, a chamber music program, choir rehearsals, theory classes, sectional coachings and music history, as well as so much more.
