Yes, the Playgrounds Are Open in Auburn, including the popular Playground at Les Gove Park downtown.
Note that the size of the group who may use them is limited, and the splash pad at Les Gove remains closed.
There are lots of great parks and trails in Auburn. If you’re wanting to take the kids to a playground, I’d encourage you to consider exploring a new one or having a couple back up plans in case your first choice is full. Here is the playground opening announcement on the city website.
I also have it below:
As of 6/19/2020:
PARKS and TRAILS are OPEN. Please practice physical distancing by staying 6 feet apart from others. We encourage park users to recreate responsibly to keep each other safe and help keep parks and trails open.
Informal recreation on BALLFIELDS (softball, baseball, soccer), SPORT COURTS (tennis & pickleball), and other recreation areas such as Disc Golf, Skate Parks, and the Climbing Wall are ALLOWED for groups of 5 or fewer people outside the household. Enjoy your time, but please limit your stay so others may enjoy the fields and courts as well. Physical distancing must be observed during all activities. Organized sport leagues, tournaments and activities that have more than 5 people are NOT allowed.
The WATER SPRAY PLAYGROUND at Les Gove Park remains CLOSED.
As of 6/20, the other playgrounds I know about that are open include playgrounds run by the City of UP, the City of Orting, and Pierce County Parks Department (note that not all parks in Pierce County are run by Pierce County Parks). I am doing my best to keep on top of other openings. If you have a tip, hop by one of the social channels and let me know!
As always, I encourage you to be safe when you play and make the decisions that are right for your family! Also, keep in mind that things can change depending on the Governor and what phase we’re in.
