STEAM Saturdays at the Mottet Library Marble Maze at 2:30
Explore the mysterious underwater, after-dark world of life under the docks at Point Defiance Marina. You and your family can peer at and scoop organisms attracted to our underwater lights. Warm-up afterward with hot cocoa. Each child must be accompanied by one adult (1:1 ratio). Dress warmly and bring flashlights or headlamps. PFDs are provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own.
Jellyfish undulate, glide and propel themselves in incredible ways! Learn about jellyfish, comb jellies and whatever else is attracted to our lights.

The Tacoma Astronomical Society hosts free public viewing sessions each month at Pierce College near Fort Steilacoom. Indoor lectures, demonstrations, and workshops are available at public nights regardless of the weather.
On nights with clear skies, TAS volunteers provide telescopic observations of the Moon, planets, star clusters, nebulae, galaxies, double stars and more. No charge; donations accepted
Join us for a taste of fall as we celebrate the world of the glorious apple! Author/artist Nikki McClure will share her picture book “Apple,” followed by apple tasting with Erin from the Olympia Food Co-op. Make a bird feeder out of apples and twine and enjoy a mug of cider, courtesy of Lattin’s Country Cider Mill. You are also invited to bring a baked good featuring apples. Be prepared to vote for your favorite – the winner will receive a prize gift basket! This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Lacey Library.
