Summer Bash and Movie at Norpoint
Pack your snacks, blankets and lawn chairs and head to the park for a free outdoor movie for the whole family! Summer Bash – featuring Click! Mobile Movies – is a summertime tradition in Tacoma.
Seating is on the lawn, so attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or folding chairs. Activities begin at 6 pm, Movie shown at dusk It’s Mary Poppins Returns

Tumwater’s Screen on the Green
Each August, Tumwater Parks and Recreation brings four crowd-pleasing movies to the outdoor cinema at the Tumwater Valley Golf Course. Movies are shown on the first four Friday evenings in August. Seating begins at 7:30pm and movies begin at dusk. It’s Ralph Breaks the Internet tonight.

Travel back to 1855 during one of the largest museum events of the year as living historians set up dozens of tents at Fort Nisqually Living History Museum.
The event recreates the bustle and excitement of the historic visit of fur traders to the Fort in 1855. Guests will witness the arrival of the brigade (the convoy that delivered a year’s worth of furs) and spirited contests between trappers and traders – from obstacle course races to cooking contests.Read more about the event Kids 4-17 are 10.50; adults are 15.50; activities included with admission.

A free event, open to the public. Activities include building comets, the scale of the solar system, solar viewing, stomp rockets, the moon and moon craters, and a variety of astronomy and science presentations!

Evening star party – weather permitting Volunteers will be on hand with telescopes to share the night sky. There is no charge for public programs or for observing. Donations are gladly accepted and are used to further public education and outreach programs.

Calling pie bakers of all ages! Special guest judges will determine the most amazing pies in four categories: fruit, other (anything but fruit), teen (ages 12-17), and youth bakers (ages 5-11). Guidelines are available at the library information desk and on the library website. Pie entries will be received in our meeting room from 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, August 10. Judging results will be announced at an awards ceremony at 3 p.m. Beverages and pie will be served, prizes will be given, fun will be had!
