Eep! School is (finally) out, which means it’s time for one of our favorite things: Auburn Kids Day!
This is a great, free event, right at Les Gove Park in downtown Auburn, and open to all! This year’s event is June 25th!
Admission is FREE and so are most of the activities!
Highlights include inflatables, mini golf, a rock climbing wall, and face painting. The ArtRageous Zone, where kids get to create masterpieces with professional artists, is also back, as is an expanded (!) Touch-A-Truck area, and much more!
There are a few paid attractions like the popular bungee trampolines and old growth tree climbing, so bring along a bit of cash if your kids will want to do those or buy some eats.
I will tell you straight up that this is a very popular event, so don’t go here if you’re seeking peace and quiet! Do go with your spirit of adventure and just a bit of a plan for where to park, when to arrive, and what to do first. How to make one? Here are some tips:
Parking is available in and around the park, with overflow parking at Grace Community Church and street parking surrounding the park. If you can’t go on the early side, I’d just go find the church parking.
My boys and I have gone to this event several times and always had fun. The biggest lines seem to be for the inflatables, rock climbing, and the face painting. You may want to hit those early, or talk the kids into doing some other things. There are really a lot of great choices.
We also like to go early or late in the day for even more fun with lighter crowds, but I’ll leave that part up to you. Do get a map when you arrive (any vendor should have one). It’s totally possible to skip the for-profit vendors and just go to the community booths-each of whom should have some kind of freebie for the kids! There will also be all kinds of free, on-stage entertainment.
Disclosure: We are proud to be a media partner with the City of Auburn Parks Department. They’ve been super cool partners of ours since way back when. If you have a chance to say you heard about their events on Sounds Fun Mom, I’d really appreciate it!
