Join us each Friday from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm for a fun activity! Activities will vary each week, but will consist of Family Game Days, S.T.E.M. activities, crafts, and more!

Smithsonian Free Museum Day Get two free passes to a participating museum of your choice.
Story time at Barnes and Noble 11AM at most stores. We do suggest calling to confirm participation. It’s Princesses Save the World at most locations today.
Kids’ Club at Michael’s Stores 2.00 or 5.0o per child for 30 minute sessions. It’s Klutz clay projects today.

Cascade Gem and Mineral Show at Green River CC in Auburn Free event; a kids area is mentioned. I haven’t been to one of these, but I think if you have slightly older kiddos interested in things like fossils and rocks it might be fun.
Our Annual Community Event and “Fun-Raiser,” happens every fall at the turning of the autumn solstice. We celebrate this special time of year with families and young children, alongside community friends and partners. 15.00/family donation suggested. Activities include cider pressing, farm animals, organic soups, and other fun.
Fundraiser for Backpack Buddies – Hosted by STEAMboat Studio and held at the MV Farmer’s Market on September 22. Great for kids. All instruction and supplies will be provided by STEAMboat Studios. Bring your kiddos and take home your own slime! $5 per batch of slime. Half of proceeds go to Backpack Buddies.

South King Count Library events Saturday There are a number of KCLS events that sound fun today. Do check for spots before you go, as some require registration.
- Charms Class: Make Your Own Origami Patronus at the Maple Valley Library 1-2:30 Harry Potter style origami fun for tweens and teens.
- Transfiguration: Cardboard Challenge at the Auburn Library 2-4PM Cardboard and creativity are all you need to build an arcade game! Join the Global Cardboard Challenge and transform the library’s recyclables from rubbish to remarkable using imagination, ingenuity, resourcefulness and a little magic. For ages 8 and up.
- There is a Super Hero Inside All of Us: a Cartooning Journey with Captain America at the Kent Library 10:30AM-12 Ages 5 and older, ages 8 and younger with adult. Vishavjit Singh, a New York City-based cartoonist, writer, speaker and performance artist, will lead a storytelling workshop to bring out the super hero within all of us. He will share his story via cartoons followed by an interactive workshop where the young participating artists will create their own super heroes.

At Fort Nisqually visitors can travel back in time and experience life in Washington Territory during the 1850s. The Tacoma Public Library welcomes neighbors of all backgrounds to attend our special Welcoming Week edition of Preschool Storytime at the Moore Branch Library on Saturday, September 22nd at 10:30 am. Community members will share books in a variety of languages that are spoken throughout Tacoma. Children will also have the opportunity to make a craft to take home.

What happens to the water you send down the drain? Celebrate Septic Smart Week by learning about wastewater treatment and the importance of clean water. Join us for a 1pm presentation followed by a tour of the Budd Inlet Treatment Plant! Tour participants must be 10 or older and wear closed-toe, closed-heel shoes. Water-related arts & crafts all day.
