This is a great weekend if you’re looking for things to do with kids that are FUN and FREE! Boy, do we have a lot of them. We’ve also found some low cost ideas and a few splurge worthy options. Read on for all of them!

Rock Painting Party at WiggleWorks 10AM-12

Kid movie of the month at the Kent Library. It’s Toy Story 4-6PM
Kids Kaboodle is having a quarter sale and a giveaway. Need to score some used kids’ gear at bargain prices? This might be worth a try!
Washington Homeschool Conference at GRCC Also Saturday. This is a great event for new or veteran homeschoolers.

Taste of Tacoma at Pt.Defiance Free admission and shuttle; all kinds of tasty food to try (that part will cost you, but there are lots of affordable choices). Find your stretchy pants!
Family friendly activities, crafts, and fun for fairy fans. Check the schedule for what is of most interest to your fairy folk. Be sure to also read suggestions about parking.
Picha, Duris, and Scholz Farms are all offering U-pick strawberries. ****Do check their fb pages for updates before you go as this obviously depends on how many berries are on the vines at the end of the day! Kids’ Club at Michael’s Stores 2.00 or 5.00 per child for ages 3-8. Sessions are 30 minutes. It’s “Outdoor adventure,” themed crafts today. There is also a t shirt decorating event from 1-3, which is free with the purchase of the tee. You may also want to ask about their summer kids’ activities.
Storytime at Barnes and Noble stores Most area stores do a free, weekly storytime at 11AM; however, we do suggest calling yours to confirm first, as we have found participation to be inconsistent. It’s a Jurassic Park Little Golden Book event today. Yeah-who knew?
Hit your farmer’s market! Just about every area has a seasonal market open now.

PlayDate with Special Olympics WA at the Outlet Collection
Join us for an afternoon of FREE activities to celebrate and honor Auburn area Team Washington athletes – Benjamin Kennish, Flag Football and Willie Blockson, Soccer – who will compete in the 2018 USA Special Olympic Games!

Summer Reading Kick Off at the Puyallup Library
The, “Splash course,” is back at the Fife Aquatic Center. It’s an inflatable obstacle course on the water. You do need to register; spots open as of this writing. It’s 15.00 for unlimited runs during the two hour session.

Buckley/Eatonville
The Buckley Log Show is a two day logging competition where at the end of day two an all around logger is selected. This title gives the all around logger a year of bragging rights in our small town.
The parade will go down Main Street on Saturday at 10 am and the show will start at the grounds at noon. Sunday we will start the show with wrapper toss at 11am on the best load of logs.
There is seating for families and a beer garden area for those over 21.
Slug Fest at Northwest Trek A celebration of all things slug! Included with admission. Trek does get spendy, so we suggest investing in an annual pass if you’d go more than twice. You can add one to a zoo membership. Be sure to do the tram ride and allow plenty of time for the playground. Saturday and Sunday
