Gig Harbor area friends, I want you to be sure to save the date for this fun and free event coming right up!
There are so many great things to do with kids this time of year, but this is definitely one you won’t want to miss.
It’s the Donkey Creek Chum Festival, and it’s an annual event celebrating the return of salmon to local waters. This year the festival is on November 18th from 12-4. Most activities will take place in and around the Harbor History Museum.
Make salmon art, get your kids’ faces painted, enjoy live entertainment, watch canoe, kayak, and paddle board races, and take free guided walking tours to spot salmon! There will also be food and specialty vendors on hand.
This year there will also be special programming just for students on Friday. If your kids participate, you’re encouraged to return with the whole family for the Chum Festival on Saturday with your student as your personal guide!
This is a FREE, family friendly event hosted by Harbor WildWatch and the Harbor History Museum with sponsorship from Peninsula Light Company, the City of Gig Harbor, and other community partners.
Btw, Harbor WildWatch and the Harbor History Museum are totally worth discovering if you’re one of our Gig Harbor area readers and even worth the bridge toll if you’re not!
