Did you know that Goodwill has a store in Parkland/Spanaway just for Halloween costumes and decor? It’s true!
In fact, this special Halloween bargain center has more than 20,000 individual costumes and accessories for kids and adults. You’ll find costumes and merchandise galore, both gently used and brand new!
And, yes, you can find great deals!
If you haven’t gotten the kids’ costumes yet, I’d encourage you to check it out. I was blown away by the selection. I think your kids would have a hard time thinking of a costume you couldn’t find here. It’s also really fun just to explore!
If your kids are already set for the big day consider making a trip anyway. It’s fun just to look and browse, and this is a great time of year to buy some extras for the dress up box and imaginative play year round.
The folks at Goodwill put on a special media event so I got to get in on the fun. I’m in the back of the group shot above in the fortune teller/wandering displaced royal woman costume I created with my personal costume helper (Yeah, there was kind of a long back story, and yes, I am totally keeping that blouse, and maybe the chunky beads, and one of the belts…..).
My cute friend Angela from The Coupon Project is in the front in her pirate look (also found at Goodwill).
We also learned about the history of Halloween celebrations and got food and decor ideas. Everything in this display was also thrifted. I think it would be perfect for a Harry Potter celebration!
If this Goodwill isn’t in your area, you’ll be glad to know that every Goodwill has a Halloween section, And costume helpers available.
They also have, “Idea books,” and posters in the store if you love the idea of putting together a unique and frugal look, but you aren’t sure where to start. I promise they’ll make it super easy to put together a look that’s frugal and one of a kind. Everyone will think you’re one of those creative moms!
Plus, when you shop Goodwill, you’re supporting their programs that teach job and life skills.
You can find store locations and more about their work here at their Facebook page
or here at their site, where you can also find lists of store locations and more information about the programs their sales support!
And if you create an awesome look, you can enter their costume contest!
Disclosure: I received compensation for attending this event and writing this post. The opinions (and wacky glasses and Converse sneakers that really *make* the look) are all my own!
