The spraygrounds are open in Tacoma. They’ll be on from 10AM-8PM daily, beginning today. They’re all free.
Crafts from the Past at Ft.Nisqually Each weekend artisans demonstrate crafts and trades from the 1800s. It’s textile arts today. Included with fort admission
Tiptoe through the Tidepools at Titlow Beach Join volunteer naturalists for free low tide exploration. See the link under, “All over,” above for more on tide pooling on your own around the Sound.
The new “Gridiron Glory,” exhibit opens at the Washington State History Museum see the best of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Special opening events today include appearances by the Sea Gals and wild, rescued falcons and hawks from West Sound Wildlife. You could try to get a free museum pass. If you can’t score one, or don’t want to hassle with it, your advance purchase of two adult tickets comes with some nice discounts for other Tacoma area fun (bogo entree at the Harmon among others). Regular admission for kids, seniors, and members of the military is 8.00. Special events continue Sunday and Monday (Yes, it’s open Memorial Day). The exhibit will be at the museum through September 10th.
