Updated for 2018
Looking to save at the Spring Fair in Puyallup this year? Want a few tips to make the most of your visit? You’ve come to the right place!
We live up the hill from the fairgrounds, and as I’ve mentioned before, I actually prefer the Spring Fair to the big one. It’s just less busy and has more old-fashioned fun.
I’ve waded through all the options to give you the scoop on your best deals on admission, rides, and more.
Plus, I have details on the day kids go FREE! Read on for all that!
Admission Deals–
FREE Kids’ Gate Admission on opening day!
Kids ages 0-18 receive FREE gate admission on Thursday, April 19th, 2 p.m. – 10 p.m. with a suggested non-perishable food donation for the Puyallup Food Bank. No coupon required.
Kids 5 and under are FREE every day of the Spring Fair.
Other Admission Deals-If you have school age kids, they should be bringing home a coupon for 2.00 off admission. If you can’t find this one, you can save a couple bucks by purchasing in advance online or in person from a ticket outlet.
If you want a deal that also includes rides, or if you’re a military family, keep reading!
Ride Deals
The best deal is opening day.
On Thursday, April 19 buy six rides for just $18 at any ride ticket booth. Includes all Funtastic ride and games.*
PLUS: Extreme Deal – Ride the Extreme Scream on Thursday, April 19 for just $10.
*Not valid on the Classic Coaster and Extreme Scream rides.
Kids also get in free opening day with a non perishable food donation, so if Thursday works for you, go!
If your kids will want to do more rides, you may want to consider the Quack Pack good through the 18th, or there are some good Groupons available that will save you about 30% on admissions and rides. You can check those out here. Those are selling fast, so don’t wait too long if they make sense for your family.
Entertainment Deals
The Spring Fair has a whole pavilion of mostly FREE fun, including face painting, science exhibits, seed planting, and more. There are also tons of contest exhibits at the Spring Fair, all of which are free to check out. AND
Check out the animals and the live entertainment
Almost all of it is free. We love the racing pigs and the dock dogs. This year I’m especially excited about the new Aussie Kingdom exhibit. Kangaroos and wallabies, guys! Also be sure to check out Storybook Village-it’s a bit like a storybook themed children’s museum, and there will be characters on hand for photo ops. Our readers loved it last year, and this year it’s FREE. Find it by the red gate-also home to the awesome Fred Oldfield Center (ask about summer art camps)!
Food Deals
Eat Before You Go-Not to be a total grinch, but here’s what’s going to get you. If you can avoid going hungry, you will save yourself a ton of money. My husband always has to get a bag of scones. It pretty much doubles the cost of the outing, but they are tasty!
Deals for Military Families
Military Appreciation Day
Spring Fair gate admission is FREE for active, retired and reserve military and National Guard and their dependents, plus disabled veterans with a valid military ID all day on Friday, April 20, 2018. Show ID at gate turnstile.
Click here for a list of valid forms of Military ID
Parking Deals
Parking? Parking at the Spring Fair is free on Thursday and Friday in the green, orange, gold, blue, and purple lots. Parking on Saturday and Sunday is $10, which I believe is new. If you don’t want to pay you can look for street parking. Try the one by Kalles Junior High.
Motorsport Mayhem
Deals to Slamfest or The Monster Truck Show-You need separate tickets for these events. There are some deals available right now. Do bring EAR PROTECTION if you go, and don’t take a child with sensory issues. Otherwise, they’re a lot of fun. We will be doing some ticket giveaways to these. Make sure you’re following Sounds Fun Mom on Instagram and Facebook.
