Play and Grow Storytime at Wheelock 10:30. stories, rhymes, and songs for young children and a favorite grown up
Snap circuits event at the Swasey Library 10:30 2seats left as of this writing. Go fast! For ages 6-14 with a grown up. Also offered at Moore-at 2:30 2 spots left at that one as well. Missed it? You can get the kit from (affiliate link) Amazon. It is the BEST toy I ever bought. Seriously. There is also an after school time at Mottet next Tuesday.
Family nature walk at the Tacoma Nature Center. 1PM Volunteers from the Tacoma Nature Center lead a free walk. You are Required to register now. Not suitable for strollers; perfect for ages 3 and up.
Learn about the giant trees of Pt. Defiance Part I. 9AM. certified arborist will tell you about one of the park’s tallest trees! 4.00 per person or 12.00 for a family. Very little walking required. Part II is a separate program that includes an immersive walk through some of the park’s beautiful trails. You can do one or both programs. They are also offered different days. I do Not believe you have to do Part I to register for Part II, though you may want to check on that.
Children and all ages shows at the Pierce College Science Dome/planetarium Children’s show at 12:30 or 2PM; all ages at 3:15. The children’s show is shorter and interactive and now expanded to suit ages 3-12! My kiddo LOVED it. Seriously-this is a Great outing. Go! You do want to buy tickets in advance or bring cash.

Visit the LOTT Wet Science Center and enjoy, “Tinkering,” projects. At 1PM participants ten and up can tour the treatment plant-you must have closed toe shoes. The center is free!

You may have to cross the bridge for more organized fun this weekend! Your Michael’s does usually do the kids’ craft. You could also check out the touch tanks at the Skansie Visitors’ Center, visit the Harbor History Museum, or go play at Discovery Village, the Y, or one of your great parks or trails.
