Free night at the Hands-On Children’s Museum in Olympia

Saturday

All Over

Kids’ Club at Michael’s Stores 2.00/child for 30 minute sessions It’s a ,”Kindness Box,” today.

Kids’ Workshop at Home Depot It’s a crate, “Tool box,” today. You are now asked to register for these popular, Free kids’ building events.

South King County

Visit the HCC Mast Center at Redondo The center and its touch tanks of sea critters are free and open to the public every Saturday from 10-2 Back open!

Build It! at the Covington Library  Drop in and build with the library’s blocks and building tools.

Tacoma and Greater Pierce County

Lego My Library at the Puyallup Public Library Stories and Lego building time 11AM

Free kids’ clothing and gear swap at King’s Books in Tacoma Bring gently loved gear and duds to share with someone new; leave (maybe?) with something you need!

Play and Grow storytime at the Tacoma/Wheelock Library Stories, rhymes, and fun for young children and their favorite grown ups. 10:30

Kids Code Club at the downtown branch of the Tacoma Library Kids 7-17 are invited for coding fun every Saturday morning 9:30

Coloring and cookies at the Swasey Library 10AM

Tacoma Resident free day at the Point Defiance Zoo photo id and proof of residence, such as a utility bill, is required.

Alex Zerbe, “Gravity Catastrophe Show, ” at the Lakewood Library 2PM He’s billed as a, “Prop comic.” Think half stunts and half jokes. My kids have seen him and loved him-there are some sneaky science lessons in his shows, too.

Children and all ages shows at the Pierce College Science Dome/planetarium The children’s show is H2O this week. Children’s show at 12:30 or 2PM; all ages at 3:15. The children’s show is shorter and interactive-now suggested for ages 3 up to 12. My kiddo LOVED it. Seriously-this is a Great outing. Go! You do want to buy tickets in advance or bring cash. Orienteering event in Lakewood at Ft.Steilacoom Park  Find checkpoints using a compass. 20.00 day of registration; this event is open to beginners.

Olympia area

The Mitten at Olympia Family theater Short, interactive theater shows perfect for little ones. 5.00-CASH or CHECK at the door. 10:30-be sure to arrive early to get seats

Visit the South Sound Estuarium interactive marine discovery! Open 11-4 weekends at their new location. You may want to call to confirm hours before you go.

Visit the LOTT Wet Science Center and learn about the life of bugs today. Registration is required for a lecture/workshop; bug themed crafts and activities are available all day as drop in activities. The center is free.

OFS Kids Club presents a free showing of Trolls at Capitol Theater Free for 12 and under; general admission is 8.00 or 5.00 for members. Doors open at 10:30; film at 11

Gig Harbor/Kitsap

Pier Into the Night With Harbor WildWatch Head to the Maritime Pier by the Tides Tavern at 5PM to see sea creatures!

Sunday

New parent meet-up at the Sumner Library 1PM Parents of babies up to two are invited to socialize, learn about area resources, and trade clothes/goods (optional). Anyone been to one? Let us know how you liked it!

30 Americans free community festival at the Tacoma Art Museum

Plan Ahead

Don’t look now, but many of your big kids will have a half day on Friday, and they should all be off on Monday the 14th in honor of Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  We will have a round up of options up just as soon as we can-check back for that.
