It’s Greek Festival weekend at St. Nicholas in Tacoma Entertainment, church tours, and lots and lots of yummy food. If you want baklava, you’re encouraged to go Friday or early Saturday
Lego Star Wars build event at Barnes and Noble stores. 4PM at most stores. Mini builds based on the upcoming movies! We have found participation to be inconsistent even when stores are listed as participating, so we suggest using the link to check for a location near you and then calling to confirm.
Family craft time at Michael’s Craft Stores 1-3PM Great pumpkin event Supplies and event are free WITH purchase of craft pumpkin to decorate. Also Sunday
Kids’ Club at Michael’s Craft Stores 10AM-12 2.00 per half hour session It’s paper plate, mashup masks today.
Highlights Magazine story time at Barnes and Noble stores. Special story time celebrating the classic kids’ magazine. 11AM at most stores. We suggest finding your store and calling for details, as participation does vary. Note many area stores also have book fairs today-if you go to the one in Lakewood think about buying a book to support the Exceptional Families Network. We think they’re cool.
Home Depot Kids’ Club Advance registration is now required for these popular, free workshops. It’s a fire truck today.

City of Fife Harvest Festival Lots of free family fun including bubble man, entertainment, hay rides, and more. We’ve had a lot of fun at this in the past. It’s more community festival than harvest celebration imho, but that part gets bigger every year.
Salmon homecoming at the Puyallup hatchery tours, activities, and more. 11AM-3 Free event

Green Tacoma Day in Wright Park 10AM-1PM Harnessed and helmeted big kids can climb giant sequoias! Plus help with tree planting and other fun. Note: If your kids want to climb,go towards the beginning of this event.
Play and Grow Storytime at the Wheelock Library 10:30 weekly stories and play for your children and their favorite grown ups

Kidz Code Club at the main branch of the Tacoma Public Library Kids 7-17 are invited to learn how to code, develop websites, and more. Programs include Scratch, Minecraft, and others. Food Truck Saturday at Sprinker Rec Center 11AM-2PM Each Saturday through October 22nd, find four or so food trucks to try.
Children and all ages shows at the Science Dome presentations and shows on the overhead dome at the area’s only indoor, digital planetarium. Great, low cost, indoor activity-we really recommend the children’s version! Bring cash-no cards can be accepted at the venue. children’s show is 6.00 for ages 3-8 and free for others

Children’s Day at Huntamer Park in Lacey Annual day of free family fun. Rain or shine event! Undersea theme this year.

Steilacoom Apple Squeeze Get your apple on! No, you won’t be able to pick your own, but you’ll get a small-town experience full of charm. And cider. Yum!
Squash and Squeeze Festival at Wild Hare farm farm tours; cider making
Free Style painting for kids at the Artful Dreamers Studio Kids get to paint on big canvases. A Tacoma Arts Month event. Registration and fees required; supplies included w/fee.
Family nature walk at Point Defiance Free family walk lead by the ranger. Meet at the rhody garden. No regisration needed. Perfect for ages 3 and up; not suitable for strollers.
Tours and sails on the historic schooner The Adventuress at the Foss Waterway Seaport Tours are free with paid admission to the Foss Waterway Seaport Museum (8.00/10.00) Sails are 65.00/35.00 a person, and you do need to sign up in advance. As of now, the sail is wait lis only. You can go here for more information about future oppotunities. The dockside tours are drop-in, and you can get more information about those here.
