Do you teach or help with a class, Scout group,or other community minded kiddos? If so, you can help honor local veterans in a very special way. One of our city council pals sent this information over, and I just knew some of you would want in! Here’s the details:
Puget Sound Honor Flights is preparing to send 55 veterans on a Honor Flight to Washington, DC.
The Sept 24th flight will host mainly veterans from World War II. On October 15th, the flight will consist of mainly veterans from the Korean War.
On their return flight, veterans have mail call. This is where you, your class, Boy Scout/Girl Scouts, club or group can participate. You, or your group, can write letters or cards of appreciation for the veteran’s service to be delivered on their return flight.
Doesn’t that sound like a great activity for your group? I thought so, too! Here’s the only tricky part: Letters need to get to our local contact September 18th for the first flight. You can do that, right? Great! If your family and your group wants to participate, just write your thank you notes, letters, or cards, and then send me an email at soundsfunmom@gmail.com, and I’ll arrange pick up for you! Greater Puyallup/Tacoma area locations preferred, but I’m willing to make this work if you’re elsewhere in our, “Territory.” Pass it on!
