Sunday, August 7th

South King County

Museum of Flight Jet Blast Bash  See the Blue Angels take off, plus kids’ activities and planes on display. Free with admission, which is a little spendy. Be sure to see the notes about where to park.

Eatonville Arts Festival  Small town celebration of local arts; family friendly music and food

Puyallup/Sumner

Main Stage theater presents Beauty and the Beast  in Sumner various show days and times through August 7th; photo ops with Belle after every performance  Last chance!

Tacoma

Brown’s Point Salmon Bake

Primate Party at the Point Defiance Zoo  Special activities included with admission  Also Sunday  Note from SFM: The zoo gets spendy fast; we suggest investing in an annual pass unless you can take advantage of monthly free days for City of Tacoma residents.  They also have a new sea lion friend!

Crafts from the Past at Ft.Nisqually  Each summer weekend artisans in period dress demonstrate crafts from the 1800s; It’s horn making today. Other volunteers will also be on site to help you learn about fort life in the 1800s as you tour the buildings. Included with admission  We did this last week with the boys and had a great time.

Historic Fort Steilacoom is now open for Sunday tours

Olympia/Lacey area

It’s Thurston County fair time  All weekend; small town, family friendly fair  Last Day!

Visit the South Sound Estuarium interactive marine discovery! Open 11-4 weekends at their new location.

Beyond

It’s peak wildflower viewing time at Mt.Rainier! Here are some kid friendly options. You need to go Early on a weekend. Weekdays are a great alternative. Note-We also had good luck going Late, but this won’t work for everyone with a bedtime, and you’ll miss the visitor’s centers etc…

Have you come to one of our princess playdates yet? We have one Tuesday, August 9th at the playground at Les Gove Park in Auburn! Pics and Meet and Greet with the, “Sleeping Princess,” are all FREE! Don’t have a a princess fan? The playground is super fun, you can meet some new friends (and us!), and we’ll have chocolate milk from Smith Brothers while supplies last!   Register for your free tickets here!
