Here’s a fun chance to be part of a global celebration, and you don’t have to go further than Puyallup!
The Big Latch on is a global celebration of World Breastfeeding Week. Every year participants gather together in August to breastfeed and offer peer support and normalization for breastfeeding moms all over.
This year’s South Sound area event is at Clark’s Creek Park South (1700 12th Ave SW) in Puyallup on Friday, August 5th at 9:30. You’ll be able to meet other mommas, and there will also be presenters offering information and support, plus vendor tables, a photo booth, snacks, and you’ll have a chance at some great giveaways, like some seriously high dollar carriers. If you’e expecting and thinking about breastfeeding, this would be a nice opportunity to get your questions answered by experts and other moms (the real experts!) I think it also sounds like a good chance for moms with babies to connect.
Registration begins at 9:30 followed by presentations at 10 and after the official count, which begins at 10:30. Plan on coming a little early so you can get in all the fun stuff.
Look for directional signs when you arrive. There is a large picnic area and a fun play structure for older children as well as bathrooms and ample parking. Bring a blanket or chairs for the lawn. Let me know how many babies you count if you go! Head here to the group’s Facebook page if you have other questions and to let them know you’re going!
