Do you feel like this post is a rerun? Yes, there was a low tide Monday. There is ONE more, just as low on Tuesday and then a sort-of good low on Wednesday. After that there really aren’t any good sand-revealing lows again this summer, although there will certainly still be plenty of days to hit the beach.
So if you’ve been meaning to take the kids tidepooling, you really need to Go.
If you’d like to do this with a group, you can join staff from the Point Defiance Zoo at Owen Beach at 10:30 Tuesday morning. Volunteer naturalists will be on hand to help you identify sea creatures. There are also events at Saltwater State Park and Des Moines Beach for our South King County readers both Tuesday and Wednesday. These are all free, drop-in programs.
It’s also an easy activity to do on your own. Our post here will tell you how to read the tide tables and where to go!
For more fun, check the calendar, look under, “Summer,” in the menu bar, or just scroll down-we’ve had a lot of good stuff lately!
