Need some help filling a summer weekday with your kids? Here are six fun outings for kids near Tacoma and South King County that are free or very inexpensive! Story time isn’t just for the library this time of year!
Storytime at the Job Carr Museum This fun little museum in Old Town offers stories with crafts, games, and activities on select Wednesdays. These are hour long events, perfect for ages 3-8. Admission to the Museum and All Cabin Events are “Pay As You Can” The next one is on the 20th at 1PM. The museum also hosts monthly craft Saturdays if these days don’t work for you. FREE-donations accepted
Storytime at the conservatory Also on Wednesdays are story hours at the conservatory in Wright Park. These events are from 11AM-12 and feature nature or science themes with story teller, Bonnie Beaudoin. The glass walled conservatory is filled with tropical plants; what a beautiful place for kids to learn about nature! CHEAP-suggested donation of 3.00
The White River Valley Museum in Auburn hosts Hooked on History every Wednesday in July from 10:30 – 11:30am!
FREE admission, crafts and activities – prefect for kids ages 3 – 12. Every week we explore a new, fun theme at the Museum right before the concerts in Les Gove Park! Free
Highine MAST Aquarium at Redondo If you love the touch tanks of sea critters at HCC Mast, you’ll be glad to know you can go visit them on weekdays in the summer! The center at Redondo is free and open 10-2 on Saturdays, and in July and August on Thursdays from 4-7. FREE
The Science Dome shows all ages shows on Wednesdays during the summer, in addition to their regular all ages and children’s programs on Saturdays. CHEAP
Playdates in the park with us-We’re hosting FREE playdates with a different princess or character at each one select Tuesdays. The next one is coming right up on July 26th at Les Gove Park in Auburn. The friends who went to our first one got some serious face time with Ariel. Don’t miss this one! FREE
