We love our free family fun here, and I’m especially excited to tell you about this fun and free event coming to Lakewood Saturday that’s a celebration of creativity and imagination.
It’s MakerFest, one of our favorite, annual events from our friends at the Pierce County Library system.
MakerFest is a chance for creative types to show off anything they’ve made from sewing projects to woodworking, radios to robots,to….well, you get the idea. It’s a chance for kids to try a ton of hands-on projects and activities. Keri and I both went with our kids last year, and honestly, it was so much more fun than either of us was expecting!
Henry got to disassemble a computer, experiment with a wind tunnel, make a button, meet a Dalek, try print making, and so much more!
It was seriously a super full day of fun, and if you have a kiddo who loves to build, create, or just mess around inventing and making things, you do not want to miss it! We do plan on going, so if you see us, say, “Helllo!”
You can learn much more about this event here. It’s this Saturday from 12-5. It’s free, and so is your parking! Woot!
Disclosure: We are super proud of our ongoing partnership with the Pierce County Library System, one of the very best in the nation!
