Updated for 2019
Got truck lovers? If you’re looking for touch a truck events for kids near Tacoma, Federal Way, Bonney Lake, or anywhere close, you’re in luck! Here’s our touch-a-truck event round up for 2019.
We have provided links so you can confirm details before you head out.
At these popular events kids have the opportunity to get up close and personal with vehicles like dump trucks, fire trucks, and more! There are also usually demonstrations such as the Jaws of Life and Swat TEAM vehicle robots. Kids can climb in and around the big rigs and usually get to sound the horns, too! Look for a, “No horns,” time if you have a kiddo with sensory issues.

This is a ticketed event, but boy does it look fun. Kids get to drive bulldozers! It’s at the fairgrounds in Puyallup. Adults are 10.00 and kids two and up are 8.00 with advance purchase. There are also educational activities and most of the event is free once you’re in! We don’t have a lot of other scoop on this one, but readers who went last year said it was a lot of fun.

Saturday, September 7, 10:00am-1:00pm Does your child have a love for trucks and large vehicles? Then check out Pierce County’s Touch-A-Truck free event. Kids of all ages will love to climb, run around, sit in and even honk horns of many types of trucks and vehicles at Sprinker Recreation Center located on 14824 C Street South in Tacoma.
A special no horns time is scheduled from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. for sensory sensitive children. Come explore a fire engine, dump trucks, command center, bucket truck, striper, tractor, military vehicles, school buses and so many more
Other ideas-Most area fire departments offer occasional open house events. If you have a kiddo who loves fire trucks, “Like,” their fb pages to stay in the loop on those. Most will also be glad to do tours for your preschool or play group.
If you know of another Touch-A-Truck not on our list, do leave a comment and let us know! If you’ve gone to any of these and have a review or tip, we love those, too!
