Boy, it sure feels early for this post! If you’re looking to have fun in the sun today, or beat the heat, are a few ideas! It’s supposed to be even warmer Tuesday, so pass it on and make some, “Cool,” plans with a pal!
Here is a list of water features! Most of these aren’t on yet, but some of the fountains operate year round. The stream at East Bay Plaza by the Hands On Children’s Museum is open,
and there is a new sprayground at the plaza by Point Ruston on Ruston Way that will be open beginning at 2PM.
Want to explore? It would be a great day for a nature walk, and many of these on our list of Ten Great South Sound Nature Walks are shaded. This one is one of our most popular posts ever!
Here is my list of readers’ favorite ice cream and cool treat spots. We’re fans of Menchies, and Puyallup fav, Elements. My oldest says he likes the atmosphere at Black Bear best. Yes, he really said that…..I know! Ice Cream Social on 6th Avenue in Tacoma is also amazing.
Check out a beach with sand! Bring your toys!
You can also check out one of these great kid friendly beaches!
Go swimming (or maybe just wading) at a nearby lake! These won’t have lifeguards yet, and I think it’s early for swimming, but many of them make for fun places to play anyway!
You may even want to escape to the movie theater and catch a cheap kids movie, because they have AC!
Or, how about an indoor play area? Our sponsors at WiggleWorks in Puyallup and Trampoline Nation in Federal Way want to welcome you to play in their fully air conditioned facilities! Check out our many other indoor play options!
Most museums have AC. Libraries have AC….and, finally….here is my list of South Sound malls with play areas.
