South Sound Weekend Kids’ Calendar: Family Fun And Things To Do March 11th-13th

Looking for something fun to do this weekend in Tacoma, Olympia, Puyallup, or another South Sound Spot?

We’ve got you covered with our weekly guide to free and affordable fun for families in the South Puget Sound.  My favorite thing about this weekend’s list? Lots of it is FREE!

South Sound Kid's Calendar

Want to go sledding or play in the snow? Here’s our guide!   As of this writing,  the snow play area at Paradise is open until the 27th of March, but we suggest you double check weather and road conditions before heading to any of these spots.

Friday

Indoor Park at Pen-Met Indoor Soccer Center in Gig Harbor  Every Friday from 11:15-12:30; toys usually left up longer  2.00/child They also have a time on Tuesday mornings-9:45, I believe. For ages 2-5

Bounce Play in Gig Harbor  Free inflatable time for preschoolers and social time for parents hosted by Harbor Christian Church Missed it this week? You can reserve for next time-details on their fb page.

Too Many Carrots Story Time at most Barnes and Noble stores. 11AM   We do suggest calling your location to confirm, as we have found participation to be inconsistent.

Kids’ Club at Michael’s Stores  2.00/child for 30 minute sessions  It’s a bunny picture frame today. There is also a flash charms exchange today. You may also want to check out spring break offerings.

South King County

Kent Kids’ Art Day  10.00 admission for kids covers ALL the projects they want to do! Loads of hands-on fun all day, plus food available for purchase. Grown-ups and kids 2 and under are free.

Visit the HCC Mast Center  at Redondo   The center and its touch tanks of sea critters are free and open to the public every Saturday from 10-2

Bonney Lake HS drama presents Mary Poppins  Shows at 2 and 7 today; 2 tomorrow  Tickets 8.00 and 12.00

Cat in the Hat playdate at the Children’s Museum of Tacoma  Free, drop in event with special fun themed around PBS shows; The museum is pay-as-you will.  The Daffodil Princesses will also be on hand for play today.

SOTA Robots: Students from Tacoma’s School of the Arts will be at the Children’s Museum of Tacoma to show off their robot creations and talk robotics.

Kids’ Code Club at the main branch of the Tacoma Library

Play and Grow Story Time at the Wheelock Library  Also toddler and baby times at Main today. Here is the full TPL calendar; there are also some events of interest to Tweens and older this weekend.

James and the Giant Peach at Tacoma Musical Playhouse Ongoing through the 20th

Children and all ages shows at the Pierce College Science Dome/planetarium  Children’s show at 12:30 or  2PM; all ages at 3:15. The children’s show is shorter and interactive. Henry LOVED it. Seriously-this is a Great outing. Go! You do want to buy tickets in advance or bring cash. No cards are accepted at the door.

Visit our friends at Jozee Rooz Indoor Petting Zoo! 

Ghosts in the Balfour Dock Building Nightime event for ages 10 and up at the historic, Foss Waterway Seaport  Hear stories and enjoy cocoa and cookies after. Buy tickets in advance. Dress warmly as the buildings are on the water and unheated. It will also be very dark.

Let’s Play! Children’s theater at Olympia Family Theater Humpty Dumpty today.  These are 30 minute shows, perfect for very young audiences.

Captain Little presents The Peanuts Movie at Capitol Theater  Free for kids 12 and under; 8.00 general admission; doors open at 10:30

Visit the South Sound Estuarium interactive marine discovery! Open 11-4 weekends at their new location.  .
