We’re pleased to have a playground report on a fun place to play for kids near Auburn and Sumner from reader/writer mom, Julie!
Last week’s sunny and warm (ish) weather had my kids and I running for our local playgrounds. We spent time at one of our favorites and I wanted to share so those in the Auburn/Lake Tapps/Sumner area could join in the fun! Located off of Evergreen Way SE in the Edgeview neighborhood of Auburn is the Edgeview park and playground.
It’s not big, as it was designed to be a neighborhood park, but it’s got new equipment and is very well maintained. The playground equipment itself is pretty tall, so probably best for the 3 and up crowd. It has five slides of varying heights, climbing holds to get to the higher end, and two sets of monkey bars. The park also has a basketball court, a ball field, and a grassy area for running around. There is a 15 station exercise trail across the street.
Edgeview also has another neighborhood park further down Evergreen Way with a shorter play structure that is better for smaller kids. My kids (ages 4 & 6) seem to love them equally, and we spend a lot of time at both when the weather is nice! It’s helpful to know that neither of the parks in Edgeview have bathroom facilities.
The Lakeland Hills community is also full of what we call “pocket parks”, little neighborhood parks tucked in here and there. Park hopping is a great way to explore the neighborhood and make new friends.
You’ll find this park at the crossroads of Evergreen Way and Kersey Way SE, down the street from Lakeland Hills Park.
Thanks to reader/writer mom Julie Collins for this review! If you know another playground we should check out, leave a comment and let us know!
FYI, if you head up Evergreen way to Lakeland Hills park there is a public bathroom facing Evergreen way just before Highland Dr. SE. Good to know in a pinch!
Thanks so much, Taylor! That is exactly the kind of tip we love!
