We recently shared with you the South Sound Best of Western Washington spots just for kids.
We know you love Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium because it won first place as the Best Fun Place for Kids in Western Washington! We LOVE our amazing zoo with it’s ever expanding programs and exhibits. Most recently they have added the Jammin’ with Jellies exhibit, where you can be mesmerized by these beautiful creatures, explore jellyfish inspired artwork, and enjoy hands on activities.
Now, getting into the zoo can be pricy. Adult tickets are $17.95 and kids are $13.95. If you are a Pierce County resident, you can gain discounted admission to the zoo every day. Better yet, if you are a Tacoma resident, there are various days throughout the year when you can get into the zoo for FREE! Thanks to a $35 million bond voted for by the Tacoma residents, anyone with a Tacoma address will be admitted free on the Tacoma Resident Free Days.
Anyone over 18 will have to show proof of residency at a Tacoma address (not a P.O. box) by way of ID or photo ID and utility bill. Children 17 and younger do not require proof of residency.
Here are the dates you want to add to your calendar as Tacoma Resident Free Days. And, if you aren’t a Tacoma resident or are a zoo member, these might be the dates to avoid the crowds.
Not a city of Tacoma resident? We have zoo going and savings tips for everyone in our post here!
