Kid Friendly Halloween Events around Tacoma, Auburn, Sumner, Federal Way, Orting, Dupont, Fife, and your South Sound home!
Reminder: These are carnivals and similar events. For those happening on Halloween, head towards the bottom of the list. If you’re looking specifically for trick or treating spots, we have a link to That list at the bottom of the post, too!
Disclaimer alert: Please note that we put together this, “Treat,” for you, but we are not the event organizers. We’ve provided links and ask YOU to confirm the details as mistakes can happen in round ups of this size. Thanks for doing that!
Family by Day activities for little goblins begin at 12 noon thru 6 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. But BEWARE, as the park transitions to FRIGHT BY NIGHT from 6 PM to 7 PM when the monsters come out to find their prey, Friday thru Sunday evenings.
Come in costume, take a nighttime tram ride through the Free-Roaming Area, play games and go trick-or-treating during the spookiest event of the year.

Enjoy a night off while your kids enjoy a night out!
Monster-themed activities, crafts, and a healthy Subway dinner, before our Monster Ball in our Treetops Playground. Our 5,000 sq. ft. indoor/outdoor Treetops playground is a blast, and kids can also enjoy games, crafts and dinner. STAR Pass Holder: $10 Resident: $15 Non-Resident: $20 You need to register for this one.
Special story time with Tacoma members of The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, The Abbey of St. Joan! They’ll be reading picture books with slightly spooky stories such as Los Gatos Black on Halloween, Creepy Pair of Underwear!, and Leo: A Ghost Story. Come dressed in your favorite Halloween costume and enjoy a beautiful walk at Pierce County Parks and Recreation’s Woof Woof Walk on Saturday, Oct.19 at Spanaway Park in the Parkland/Spanaway vicinity. Saturday, October 19, 2019 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Get ready for a hair-raising · spine-chilling · blood-curdling adventure through the Fircrest Haunted Trails. This is not for the faint hearted. Join us … if you dare. Thursday, October 24, 2019 – 7:00pm – 8:30pm Cost $3 per person Note from SFM: This sounds like maybe not for kids?

Free fun for the entire family Costumes are encouraged – ghosts, goblins, super heroes, princesses…maze, activity booths, trick or treating at participating businesses
On October 26, 2019 the MaST Center Aquarium will be hosting their annual Halloween Festival: Fear on the Pier. This event is free and fun for the whole family!This event is family-friendly for all ages with aquarium exhibits and science-y/Halloween themed fun-“Merry not scary.”
The train ride is about 10 to 15 minutes long. Children and adults of all ages are welcome to take a ride and experience the excitement of the train ride and displays along to track. Very young children need to ride in front of a responsible adult. Be sure and listen to the message that is given prior to departing the depot! Tickets and more here
This is a great all ages event, but it’s particularly nice for your toddlers and preschoolers. “Trunks,” will be table stations inside so everyone stays warm and dry, and very little walking around is required. October 26th from 6-8 PM at Celebration Lutheran Church!
The Haunted Forest in Maple Valley has a, “More light; less fright,” time Saturdays from 5-6PM. Note from SFM: I’m not familiar with this event so I don’t know if this is suitable for young children. If you do, let me know.
October 26th 1-5PM at Les Gove Park Lots of trick or treat and carnival style fun for young children.
Splash in the spooky swim with treats and a spooky movie! You may want to call ahead to be sure the movie selection is appropriate for your kiddos’ ages. This is an annual event, but I don’t see a date on the calendar yet. You may want to call the pool.
Pet costume contest, parade, and more fun Saturday, October 26th
Lights out and a glowing pool! Two sessions on the 26th. Advance registration and fees required.
Carnival Style Events and Other Fun On Halloween *Note that we have a separate list specific to trick or treating
Maker Fall Fun Fest is at 6:00pm-8:30pm on Wednesday, October 31. This fun, family event is free and open to all ages but geared to preschool through elementary ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Costumes are welcome but please no scary costumes or masks. Invite your friends and neighbors!
On the calendar for Halloween, but I don’t see details yet.
Enjoy carnival games, prizes, bounce house and more! $1 donation for a goodie bag. This event is for children ages 10 and under. 6-8PM Halloween
Haunted house, carnival games, bouncy house, pumpkin patch, and other fun
Watch a skit, play games, and have a family photo taken! This is an event specifically for children age 3 through 6th grade, but there is fun the whole family will enjoy! This is a FREE event and no registration is required. Game and skit rotations are ongoing throughout the night – doors will open at 6 p.m.!
Indoor trick or treating and a light meal
Visit the Shops at Point Ruston for Halloween Treats!
The Point Ruston Community will be hosting a Halloween trick-or-treating event for our waterfront community between 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 31st.
No need to pay or validate parking between 4 – 7pm.
Parking is always free for customers at Point Ruston!
The Grand Loop will be closed for fun & safety between 4 – 7pm.
We will be closing down the Grand Loop to foot traffic only for a safe, walkable event.
Tricks, treats and treasures await your whole family at the annual Fife Police Department Halloween Carnival. Free flashlights, goody bags and more for every little pumpkin. Bring one non-perishable food item.

Harvest Fest at People’s Community Center
Bring the entire family to enjoy games, music, art & crafts, a costume contest and haunted house. Admission is free Thursday, October 31 6-8 pm
Family program, all ages welcome with adult. Boo! Wear your costume for a brief, not-too-scary Halloween Story Time and a parade through the library. 10:30 Sponsored by the Friends of the Auburn Library.
