Have you heard about the program that gets 4th graders and their guests into national parks and other federal lands for FREE?
Update: This program was renewed. If you had a 4th grader -during the 2017-2018 year he/she can get a free parks pass that will be good through the end of August 2018!
I know this amazing freebie sounds too good to be true, but I promise it isn’t!
We first told you that your 4th graders would be getting free entrance to national parks last year when the program was launched, but now you can actually sign up! Just head here to read more about this program and then click, “Get Your Pass.” Yes, homeschoolers are eligible, and yes, teachers can get passes for their classes. It includes entrance for 4th graders and others in their vehicle, and it covers national parks and millions of acres of other federal lands and waters.
Now, just because I know I’ll get questions and comments……I’m not sure why they chose 4th grade either, and yes, I wish it was all kids, too! To be completely honest, we have a 4th grader here, and I didn’t remember this program until after we’d bought our annual pass to Mt.Rainier. Sighs….Oh, well! It’s always great to support your parks!
What to do when you’ve got your pass? I have a list of kid friendly hikes at Mt.Rainier right here!
