Could you use some strategies to help your kids stay up with their skills during the summer months?
As I’m sure you know, kids often lose ground in important subjects like reading and math during the long vacation. We try to read and practice math facts, but I’m not going to lie-it can be a struggle!
If you could use some help, too, you might want to hit the FREE class tonight at the ARK Institute of Learning in Lakewood.
They’re offering free weekly parenting classes, and tonight’s topic is keeping up with math facts.
Educational Therapist Sheri Hamlow will offer FREE advice and demonstration of math strategies to help parents looking to prevent that summer learning slump. She’ll include strategies for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts. The event runs from 6-7PM. It’s open to all, and you’re encouraged to bring friends!
I do apologize for the late notice on this one. If you can’t make it tonight, hopefully this puts these classes and the ARK on your radar. It’s an amazing community resource dedicated to helping parents and working with children with a variety of special needs. If you have a child with dyslexia or other learning issues, they offer tutoring and classes taught by skilled professionals who use research proven methods. You can find out more about them here.
