If it’s not officially summer, it sure feels like it!
Puyallup still has another week of school, but I know many of you are already on vacation or in fun planning mode.
With that in mind, here are a few fun things to do with the kiddos this week. Don’t forget you can always check our Summer Guide for much, much more! Need somewhere else for the kids to be? The Summer Camp Guide is a great resource, too! You’ll find both of those in the menu bar.

Low tide exploration is one of many fun and Free things to do around the South Sound this week. Don’t forget your sunscreen!
All Week
Some of the summer’s first really low tides are this week. Tuesday, you can join volunteer naturalists at Titlow Beach in Tacoma. Wednesday, Olympia area readers can check out a similar event at Tolmie. Seattle and South King County area readers have events several days this week.
Want to do it yourself? Head here for my post on low tide exploration, including where to go and how to use the tide table. It also has details/links to the events mentioned above.
Monday, Wednesday, or Friday
Michael’s Passport to Imagination program begins this week. My store still had spots all three days, but they are filling fast. This is a low cost, kids’ crafting program.

It’s a 3rd Thursday, so you can enjoy extended hours and free Evening admission at Tacoma’s major museums and the Seymour Conservatory at Wright Park.
It’s Members’ Wild Night at the Point Defiance Zoo. If you’re a zoo member, you can enjoy special animal encounters and behind the scenes tours tonight. We went last year, and it was a lot of fun, though I think it’s best for slightly bigger, school age kids with reasonably long attention spans.
Friday
TAKEOVER at WiggleWorks at the South Hill Mall! Closing at 4:30 pm to host our Takeover program! Our theme is animal safari! We’re watching Madagascar, playing, eating dinner, and making animal masks! Get your ticket now! *advanced booking required.
You can make a golf bug craft and watch a family film at the Graham Library this afternoon.
and, of course, I’ll have your whole weekend list up Friday morning as always! Don’t forget to find the Summer Guide in the menu bar for much more summer fun. Keri is also hard at work getting our new calendar up and running. Thank you for your patience during this transition. As always, our goal is to make the site your one stop for South Sound family fun finding!
