Meet Steve And Kate’s Camp!

June 8, 2015 by Maegen Blue

Hey, Tacoma, It’s not too late to find a great, summer day camp, and I know one that will work with you if you just need a few days, or if you’re still working on your summer schedule. Nope, it’s not too good to be true!

It’s Steve and Kate’s camp, the day camp for kids in grades K-7 that’s been named the very BEST in the South Sound.

It’s truly a day camp experience like no other. Kids get to plan their own days-they don’t have to adhere to a set schedule or stick to the same group. There are always amazing, fun experiences to be had for every kind of kid. My kids and Keri’s got to check out the stop motion animation movie making that they offer to campers Every. Day. Keri’s little ones and my fussy tween and his pals all loved it.

Other specialty studios to choose from include the culinary studio, build studio, design studio, style studio, animation studio, dance studio, and style studio.   Seriously, can I go??

Kids can also always play sports and games, and a snack and meal are provided. You literally don’t have to send your kids with anything but a swimsuit and sunscreen.  As the folks at Steve and Kate’s put it:

We don’t believe in that whole “batteries not included” jazz. Once you pay for camp, we include everything needed between the hours of 7:30am to 6:00pm. That means we’ll make sure your little camper is eating like a…a …a champ-er? Anyway, lunch is designed by three esteemed top chefs and snacks are provided throughout the day. Any and all materials your child needs to get the full camp experience are taken care of. And all activities are open to every camper. So, as long as you remember to bring your favorite kids, we’ll bring the rest.

Camps are geared towards children in grades K-7 (some exceptions for preschoolers). Enrollment is ongoing, and customized according to your needs-including day pass options! Let me say that again…..You can buy by the day! And, if you buy a block of 12, let’s say, and you don’t use them all, you will get your money back. Oh, and you don’t even have to tell them you’re coming. You can literally just. show. up.  I don’t know any other camp with that kind of flexibility. Period.
Whether you’ve got just one week when you need a hand, or a few odd days to fill, or you just want to make sure your kids have a Blast this summer, you’ll want to give them a look.  Just head here to Steve & Kate’s Camp for more information!
Disclosure: We are sponsored by Charles Wright Academy, which hosts Steve and Kate’s camp. Laurel, the camp director, provided my kids with pizza and an afternoon of animation fun. I was not otherwise compensated. The opinions are my own, except where indicated.
