Are you starting to think about summer plans for the kids? If you’re thinking camps, you’ll definitely want to check out our South Sound Summer Camp Guide-you’ll find it there in the sidebar, or via the menu bar up top!
I also want to highlight a special camp opportunity for children with a particular interest in marine science. It’s the Mast Center Sound Summer Science Camp from our friends at HCC Mast at Redondo. Maybe you’ve been to their free aquarium touch tanks on the weekend?
Their camp is FREE (a 25.00 donation is requested for supplies), and it’s a very special opportunity for children entering 4th, 5th, or 6th grades. Activities include dissection, tidepool exploration, touching and examining all kinds of sea creatures, and much more-all under the direction of college level instructors. Now, as you can imagine, spots are limited, and children do need to apply. The organizers are looking for kiddos who are truly motivated and excited to learn more about sea life here in Puget Sound. If that sounds like one of your kiddos, just head here for more information and the application process. Applications are due May 15th. Pass it on!
