I get lots of questions from moms and dads looking for kid friendly hikes near Tacoma and the greater South Sound. I also get lots of questions from readers looking to connect with other fun loving parents.
Problem solved alert! Hike It Baby is a different kind of parents’ group that gets outdoors loving moms and their little ones together for kid friendly walks and hikes around here. Yes, dads and older kiddos are most welcome-so are moms-to-be!
I know-fabulous, right? Whether you’re looking for help exploring the area, or you’d just like some company on your adventures, I think this will be just the thing.
The group is a branch of a larger national network, and you can learn more about the Hike It Baby philosophy here.
To get involved with the Tacoma group, simply head to their Facebook page and send a request to join. Then you’ll want to read the post pinned to the top with answers to frequently asked questions, and you can check the, “Events,” tab for an upcoming hike near you! They’ve gone to quite a few spots, and I know there is also talk of a new Olympia area group. All their outings are free!
If you get involved and want to lead an outing, I do know a family website with lots of kid friendly nature walks and hikes you might want to try. Hint, hint!
You can tell the Hike It Baby gals I sent you over. They’re super cool.
