The Tacoma Maritime Fest is coming up this weekend, and it’s full of my very favorite thing-free fun for your family! Woot! You can imagine how excited we are to be media sponsors.
The Maritime Fest is a celebration of Tacoma’s history, and it’s full of free things to see and do.
There is a zone just for kids with a marine touch tank, arts and crafts, and more. Henry loved hanging out with the pirates!
You can also watch the, “Quick and dirty,” boat building competition, check out boats of every size and description, and generally thrill your little transportation lovers.
Oh, and if you go on Sunday you can get a free boat tour of the Port of Tacoma. This is an amazing, once-a-year opportunity to get an up close look at the big container ships in the port. The rides are Sunday only, and you do need tickets. Those are first come, first serve, and yeah-I’d plan on getting there at 9AM to snag one. I’d also suggest not over promising to your kiddos, because these can be hot tickets. It’s definitely worth a go, though. And did I mention they’re FREE? You can get more information about the boat tours here. [Read more…]
