Got bored kids on your hands (already??)! If you’re looking for good, cheap fun for your South Puget Sound kids, I’ve got you covered.
First, a quick reminder about two fun food deals!
Tomorrow, July 8th, you can get head to Ihop and celebrate their 56th anniversary with a .56 stack of pancakes! That’s a cheap breakfast! Yes, I think you can expect a decent crowd. Report if you go! You can check out the details at their fb post about the event here.
Then, on Friday, you can get a Free Slurpee. It’s 7/11. Get it? Of course you do…..
The boys and I did this last year, and it was easy and not crowded. No, these are not healthy. Just tasty.
Need something to DO? Read on for my picks for this week’s highlights!
Weekly storytimes continue at the Job Carr Museum in Tacoma, the Seymour Conservatory at Wright Park, and the White River Valley Museum in Auburn. (This is an older post with info. on these events, which are all on Wednesdays).
The, “Premiere,” version of Metro Parks Tacoma’s summer feeding program begins today. Kids get a free Subway lunch, and enjoyed supervised playground activities and fun. At three “Premiere,” locations the hours are extended until 5PM. Any child under 18 can get the lunch, and all programs are drop in. The complete list of locations and more information is here.
And, of course, library programs abound……young children will enjoy storytime with a community hero at the Puyallup Library Friday or a visit with an animal from the Point Defiance Zoo (sign up for that one). The Pierce County Library system has lots of computer activities for tweens today plus puppet shows for younger kids and juggling for everyone. You can check out any day or branch of your choosing right here.
What else? Wednesday afternoon concerts begin in Kent and Auburn this week. These are excellent, free shows with popular kids’ entertainers. Monday evening/Tuesday morning shows start in Bonney Lake, and Tuesday evening shows continue in Lacey. You can see the complete line up on my list here.
And, of course, cheap crafting, 1.00 movies, Bible schools, and camps, are all ongoing, too! If you’re new here, it’s a lot to take in, but I suggest you hover over “Summer,” in the menu bar! I also hope to have some exciting news about the calendar soon!
