Avast, ye mateys!
It’s time for the Pirate Party at Learning Sprout Toys in downtown Tacoma. This one is on the 28th of June, and is just 8.00 per child and 2.00 per adult. There will be refreshments and a variety of pirate themed fun and games. Do note you’ll be in a toy store, so there is a good chance you’ll end up spending some more ‘um booty, if you’re not careful. They’re taking reservations now, and their events do tend to fill. Stop in or give them a call to get in on the fun. (253) 274-0136
I think this is a fun option for moms and sons, but thanks to readers for pointing out that plenty of girls love to get their pirate on, too!
As always, if you know of other fun events for pirates, princesses, or just plain kids-let me know!
My twins aren’t boys, but despite that may attend. My girls love to be pirates too. Like Captain Hooks mom and Izzy from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Even Tinkerbell (a girl) helps pirates so I guess she is an honorary girl pirate.
My twin girls LOVE to play pirates, in fact they sometimes even fight over who gets to captain hook or Jake. We do appreciate very much mother-son and daddy-daughter events at places, but with something that’s transitioned from mainly boy interest to nearly neutral (pirates, cars, sports) it would be nice for those to be marketed as parent/kid. Just my two cents. Thanks for keeping us up to date with all the happenings this summer.
Thanks, Rana! I’m sure the Learning Sprout folks would be thrilled to have your girls there. This was an update of a post from last year that came after a bunch of princess parties and was written in response to a specific request for mom/son events. It just sounds pretty lame and sexist now, and I’m embarrassed about that. I am ALL about kiddos getting to be whatever they can dream and imagine. Let us know how you like it if you go!
