Win Tickets To Jurassic Quest At The Puyallup Fairgrounds-Plus, Insider Tips If You Go!

May 21, 2014 by Maegen Blue

UPDATE: The contest is now over. Congratulations to our winner, Victoria S. Her comment,

winning comment

was selected by the random number generator. Seriously, I could never choose any other way, because I wish you could all win! Victoria, please email me back asap.

Thanks to everyone who entered, and if you do decide to go, be sure to read on for the best tips and scoop I could get from the production team! If you’re new here, I also have a whole, giant list of ideas for the South Sound on the home page!

Several of you have written in asking for deals and information about the Jurassic Quest dinosaur show coming to the Puyallup Fairgrounds. Update: Do read the tips in the post, but you may also want to check out my review which also includes pictures so you can see what it’s like and decide if you want to give it a shot.

Puyallup Fair Dinosaur Show

If you’ve missed the buzz, you’ll want to check out the Jurassic Quest website. The show features museum quality animotronic dinosaurs, dinosaur inflatables, dinosaur ride, a dig site, and more.

Jurassic Quest I

I was able to reach Jurassic guy Dan, and he very nicely gave me straight answers to your questions.

First, there are no deals and discounts. I know it’s a bummer, but, hey-at least you know you can stop looking!

I also asked Dan if he had any specific tips for families, and he wrote this in response

The show is geared to kids from 2 to 10. We have animatronic dinosaur rides (not a fast ride). These are about 6 feet tall and 14 feet long. The child is strapped in, and there is no movement and sound. Young children enjoy it. We have 5 dinosaur inflatables. One is geared for toddlers. We have 4 large dinosaur digs with replica fossils. All these elements are unlimited with VIP tickets. There is also a craft area, Dino tour, and many photo opportunities.

He also told me candidly that while they see folks of all ages enjoying themselves, there aren’t any activities specifically for parents, and he thinks most kids in the tween/teen set might enjoy the exhibit but probably wouldn’t be into the activities.

I think if you check out their Facebook page it gives you a good sense of the age range and the atmosphere. It looks pretty perfect for kids at that typical, “Obsessed with dinosaurs,” age.

This is a popular event, so you’re encouraged to plan your visit accordingly to avoid lines and crowds. Dan tells me most folks tend to arrive right at opening time, so try coming during the last 3 or 4 hours instead. He also thinks Monday will be less busy than Saturday or Sunday.

There are two ticket levels for kids. I think the VIP level is your best bet. You can see all the ticket info. here.

While this isn’t a bargain outing, you can stay as long as you want, and it definitely looks like a day the kiddos won’t forget!

UPDATE: The Contest is over, but I do hope the tips have been helpful! If you’re new here, you may want to use my menu bar to explore a bit. I also have a whole list of other family activities this weekend on the home page. Want to get in on future events sooner? Consider becoming a subscriber via one of those cute buttons up top! I recommend the daily emails.

You can also enter to WIN A FAMILY 4 PACK OF TICKETS RIGHT HERE!

That’s right, Dan and his team at Jurassic Quest have very generously donated a family 4 pack for one lucky reader, and you can go any day of the event. Do note that these are all, “Regular,” tickets. If you want, you can upgrade the kids to the VIP level when you arrive.

Ready to enter? Of course you are!

  • For a first, required entry, visit the Jurassic Quest website or Facebook page, and leave a comment on this post telling us why you’d like to go!
  • For a second, optional entry, subscribe to my emails. These come out once a day, and they’re a digest of the day’s posts. Note that you’ll need to confirm you want them before you’re officially a subscriber. Leave a comment letting me know you signed up!
  • For a third, optional entry, follow my Pinterest boards, and, again, leave a comment on this post to let me know you’re doing so.

Make sure to leave each entry as a separate comment to improve your odds. You get that, right? If you don’t see your comment right away, don’t panic. It just means I need to approve it.

Now, this contest is going to be QUICK! I’ll be choosing one winner Thursday evening at 8PM (or just as soon as I get home from our reader event! You’re going right?), and I’ll need to hear from you within 12Hours. Sooooooo…….Please, leave an email you check regularly, and check back here for the announcement, as my emails sometimes go to Spam.  With all that out of the way….Good Luck! Ready, set,……enter!

Disclosure: Jurassic Quest provided the tickets for this giveaway, and they are providing tickets for my family to facilitate a review. I was not compensated in any other way. All opinions are my own.

Hi, I would love to go to this show because of my daughter. Her 2 babydolls are granted only a small spot at the foot of her bed; mostly because she “feels bad for them”. Her true “doll” is her 2-foot-high baby T-rex, named “Rexxie”, that she’s slept with for the past 3 years.
