Michael’s Craft Stores are again offering their popular, summer kids’ program-Passport to Imagination.
Passport To Imagination is offered Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10AM-12 for 7 weeks, beginning June 16th. This year, the theme is, “Museum Road Trip.” Each 2.00 session will include a craft inspired by a different museum. It’s the same theme every week (For example, it’s dinosaur related crafts during Field Museum week), but each day has a different project, so your kiddos can go all three days if they really like to get their craft on.
Kids 5 and up are welcome at these events. You are asked to register in-store or online. Now, I think they’d like you to stay and shop while your kiddos are crafting, but a 2 hour session seems like a Looong time to shop at Michael’s to me (I’m not crafty, though). If you’ve done these before, feel free to leave a comment about how crowded they were and whether you found you needed to stay.
Note that when I checked my store it showed just 10 spots. I don’t know how strictly that will be enforced, but if you want in on some crafts in particular, I would register soon-note that you sign up for each date separately. It’s also never a bad idea to confirm the details of a national program with your local store before you head out. One final note-there are, “Take home,” projects offered for sale. If you want to stick to the 2.00 budget, I’d have that conversation before hand!
