It’s almost time for Museum Week Northwest, and let me tell you, few things make this geeky blogger’s heart sing like a week that combines my love of history with my love of cheap!
What is Museum Week Northwest? It’s one week when you can get two for one admission to a whole list of participating museums.
Now as you know, there are lots of museums you can visit for free all the time. You knew that, right? Go read that post if you didn’t. I’ll wait….
With that in mind, I always suggest you use deals like these to check out culture hot spots that don’t regularly offer free passes or days. One good choice is the Harbor History Museum in Gig Harbor (I have a post about this museum here. They have a cool, new exhibit right now, but it’s a worth a visit anytime). The Foss Waterway Seaport is also participating. I haven’t been here since their renovations, but it’s a great one to visit with kids. And, finally, the LeMay Auto Museum, which is quite spendy, is on the bogo list. I have a post about their new Kid Zone here.
You can see the complete list of participating museums here. Some locations are also offering special events in conjunction with this week. The offers run May 17th-23rd, and yes, I’ll remind you next week.
