Kids’ Classes with the Master Gardeners in Puyallup/Tacoma at the WSU Demonstration Garden
If your kids have ever planted a sunflower or pumpkin seed at the Puyallup Fair, you’ve probably met a master gardener. The master gardeners are highly skilled volunteers who can help you with a whole variety of gardening questions. They also run a truly amazing, FREE program for children. Here are the rest of the dates for the summer of 2018.
July 7: FAIRIES AND GNOMES
Have fun making a fanciful dish garden to take home. There will be two sessions—at 10 AM and 1 PM. Preregistration is required beginning June 22 via email:pcmgyouthprogram@gmail.com.

July 21: VEGETABLE ODDITIES
Explore with your senses the weird, wacky, and odd bounty from gardens around the world.
August 4: SCARECROWS
Make a friend for your garden! You can enter your scarecrow in the contest at the Washington State Fair.
August 18: DR. SEUSS EXTRAVAGANZA
Come to our GRAND FINALE of the summer. Dr. Seuss themed costumes encouraged.

Story Time at the Seymour Conservatory in Wright Park/Tacoma
Special garden themed stories followed by an art or science activity. Plan on playing at the playground and spray ground after!

Planning a field trip? The Master Gardeners give free tours. Puyallup area reders will also want to check out new educational garden tours in Puyallup from none other than, Ed Hume! If you book the outings for your homeschool group or preschool, most all nurseries are glad to have you visit. Henry’s went to Vassey’s one year, and they were super sweet with the kids.

we LOVE the master gardeners classes! my daughter is 4 and it is perfect for her. I also have a 9 month old who is also welcome at the outings. FYI they also have classes for mom and dad at 10am! we always come home with goodies AND a good time! be sure to dress for the weather, including jacket and/or sunscreen!
We love master gardening classes. Have been going for two years now. And my daughter is now 7.
