I want to encourage you to set some time aside Saturday evening to eat spaghetti for a very good cause!
You may have heard about McKenzie Harris. She is the 7 year old Eatonville girl who was seriously injured in a car accident on New Year’s Day when a driver having an apparent medical emergency crossed lanes and hit her family head on. McKenzie was left paralyzed as a result of her injuries.
As you can imagine, the bills for her care and construction to their home are going to be significant. Happily, an incredible number of people are rallying around McKenzie and her family.
One awesome fundraiser several readers wrote in about is happening Saturday night in Graham. Round up your family, your friends, and your pasta loving peeps and head over to Frontier Middle School to eat spaghetti for McKenzie! It’s put on by her fellow Girl Scouts, and it should be a great time. Besides a yummy dinner there will be a silent auction, music, and more! All the money raised will go directly to McKenzie and her family. You can email to have your tickets reserved and pay at the door, or you can just show up. All the details are in the flyer above.
If you can’t make it, I hope you’ll visit the Team McKenzie page (the video of her singing Frozen will be the best thing you see today) and consider attending a future event. If you happen to know a business that would be willing to donate skilled labor or construction materials, there is a special page dedicated to that effort. or you can email firstname.lastname@example.org. A partial list of what is still needed and what has been pledged so far, is here.
You can also go here to make a donation directly to the Harris family. Any amount helps.
