Looking to save at the Spring Fair in Puyallup? Want a few tips to make the most of your visit? You’ve come to the right place!
We live up the hill from the fairgrounds, and as I’ve mentioned before, I actually prefer the Spring Fair to the big one. It’s just less busy and has more old-fashioned fun. Plus, the traffic doesn’t get snarled up for weeks…..there, I said it.
Here are my best tips for making the most of your Spring Fair going:
FREE Kids’ Gate Admission
Kids ages 0-18 receive FREE gate admission on Thursday, April 14th, 2 p.m. – 10 p.m. Bring a suggested non-perishable item for the Puyallup Food Bank food drive on Thursday!
After Thursday, your best admission offer at the moment is to find the coupon your kids brought home from school. It will saves you 2.00. There was also one in the blue Val Pak envelope of coupons. Otherwise, adults are 10.00 and students are 8.00. Kids 0-5 are always free. If you have a preschooler, this is really an affordable outing, especially if you steer clear of the rides (see below).

Ride Deals- Get The, “Ride Saver,” Offer.
The best deal continues to be the Ride & Game Saver Pack: Get six rides and/or games for just $17. Offer valid on all Funtastic rides and games, excluding, Extreme Scream and Classic Coaster. Offer valid all day Thursday, no coupon required. When you purchase a discount gate ticket at Fred Meyer, Safeway, Albertsons or South Hill Mall, it will include a coupon for the 6 rides for $17 promotion, valid each day. I think this is a nice amount for young children, especially if you can plan on heading somewhere fun-animals? ice cream? right after your last ride.
If you can’t take advantage of that deal, there are other packages available for kids who want to do lots of rides. Most do quickly pay for themselves, but, of course, limiting the rides is the best deal of all! I would really avoid the games, but I’m cheap like that.
Entertainment Deals- Check out the Kids’ Zone
The Spring Fair has a whole pavilion of mostly FREE fun, including face painting, a reptile show, science exhibits, seed planting, and more. There are also tons of contest exhibits at the Spring Fair, all of which are free to check out. AND
Check out the animals and the live entertainment
Again, it’s all free, and seriously-what’s cuter than a bunch of baby animals? Besides your baby, of course! Be sure to also catch the pig racing or the dock diving dogs! You can see much more here. Note-again, I’m having trouble with the website, but they have maps you can get when you enter that highlight all the things to do. Do pick one up so you don’t miss out!
Food Deals- Eat Before You Go-Not to be a total grinch, but here’s what’s going to get you. If you can avoid going hungry, you will save yourself a ton of money. My husband always has to get a bag of scones. It pretty much doubles the cost of the outing, but they are tasty! Some readers also swear by the vendors outside of the gates.
Deals for Military Families-
Military Appreciation Day
We salute our military community on Friday, April 15th. All active, retired and reserve military and their dependents, plus disabled vets receiveFREEgate admission all day Friday when they show valid military ID at the gate. Media partners are AM 570 KVI and KOMO Newsradio AM 1000/97.7 FM
Parking Deals-Parking? Parking for the Spring Fair is always free. Yippee!
Deals to Slamfest or The Monster Truck Show-You need separate tickets for these events. I don’t see deals on them right now. Do bring EAR PROTECTION if you go, and don’t take a child with sensory issues. Otherwise, they’re a lot of fun.
Just need to know when to go? Here’s all that for you!
