South King County/Northeast Tacoma
Touch tanks at HCC Mast at Redondo Free and open to the public every Saturday from 10-2 ****You can still look at the critters in the tanks, but you cannot touch them currently because of concerns over a disease that has been affecting the sea stars.
April Fool’s Dash at the Center at Norpoint 10.00/20.00 day of You will probably have to call or go in to register at this point. A fun, silly course where you might find yourself singing or running in a circle! Free, family event at the center afterwards.
Spring on the Sun Event at the Center at Norpoint 11-1PM Free, family event Bounce houses, crafts, chance to try the rock climbing wall, and more!
April Pool’s Day at Norpoint Pool Water safety class followed by free family swim. Free; participants must complete the water safety portion for entry to the open swim time. 1PM
Greater Pierce County and Tacoma
It’s Daffodil Parade day! Find a spot and watch the princesses, marching bands, and community floats go by! Route goes through Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner, and Orting. Head here and click on your city to see start time and route.
Tarzan! at ManeStage theater in Sumner– various show times
Lego story time at the Puyallup Public Library Builders 3-8 are invited to drop in and build creations inspired by fun stories. 11AM-11:45
Tea For Ruby Ballet for children based on the popular book. Illustrator Robin Preiss Glasser will be on hand to sing Tea for Ruby and your Fancy Nancy books.
Visit the Job Carr Cabin Museum in Old Town from 1-4 small, but free (donations accepted) and interesting

Historical Fort Steilacoom presents The Flett Family Descendants of the Flett family share photos and talk about the history of the area once known as Flett (now Lakewood)! Might be of interest to your older children. The museum is free and open first Sundays. Donations are accepted. Program is at 2PM
Migratory Madness at Northwest Trek Special themed activities included with admission. Trek is spendy; SFM recommends an annual pass if you can swing it, and you’d go even twice this year.
Gig Harbor Paddler’s Cup I am not sure what vendors or activities are on shore today. There are more races to watch this morning if you hustle down.
Just Between Friends Sale in Olympia Last day, with many items half off or just 1.00 8-2PM; free admission; bring reusable shopping totes.
*This time of year many junior highs and high schools are also staging spring productions. These are typically less expensive than, “Real,” theater, and often just as great! Check your school district website to see if something family friendly is on tap at a school near you.
