Need an easy and delicious guacamole for a party? As promised, here’s my sister’s famous guacamole recipe (Well, it’s famous in our family). It’s perfect for 4th of July parties, Seahawks celebrations (Look at that beautiful color! You can serve it with blue chips if you want), and any other eating occasion you can think of. Every time we have a get together, my sister brings it, and every time I have to fight the temptation to grab the bowl and run and hide with it somewhere.
A lot of recipes want you to deal with jalapeno peppers, or add a lot of spices. This simple one relies on fresh lime, red onion, and cilantro instead.
Ingredients
5 haas avocados
1 large lime
1 medium red onion
1 small bunch cilantro
Directions
Peel avocados into a glass bowl
Squeeze the juice of half a lime over the top and mash
Finely chop 1/2 of the red onion. If you have a chopper thing, it would come in handy here!
Finely chop the cilantro. You’ll end up with about 1/4 C. My bunch yielded closer to 1/2 C. and I used it all because I am a cilantro fiend!
Combine the avocado, lime, onion, and cilantro. Pass over it all with a few turns of a coarse salt shaker.
Now comes the, “hard,” part, as you’ll want to do some tasting. I usually end up adding more lime. My husband would add cumin at this point, but I really like it just like this-simple, fresh, and super delicious.
