Train Festival continues at the Washington State History Museum in Tacoma  You could try getting a pass from your library for free admission, though they may be hard to come by. This is a fun event for your little train lovers, though it does get Very crowded, and there is lots that is just to look at. If you go, be sure to explore the other areas of the museum as well.
Suggestion: If you have a Thomas fan, there is a free, Lego display at City Blocks in the bottom of Freighthouse Square. You can check that out, and then hop a free Link ride to the museum (park the car in the garage-also free).

Winter Wildland at NW Trek Watch animals enjoy special themed enrichment treats and activities; included with admission, which also covers a tram ride.  Trek is pricey; SFM recommends investing in an annual pass if you’d go even twice this year; one can be added to an existing zoo membership. Otherwise, there is a kids free day in February.  Continues through January 1st

Family Day at the Museum of Glass  12-5   You should be able to use a library pass for free admission if you can nab one. Visiting artists host family crafting the last Sunday of every month.

Skating party at the Polar Plaza with the Children’s Museum of Tacoma 10AM-1PM 5.00 includes admission plus skate rentals; play guides will be on hand to help young skaters  *I don’t know if you can still sign up for this or not. I’m asking now.

Bogo roller skating at Tiffany’s Skate Inn in Puyallup. Wear your Seahawks gear and get two for one admission to the 1-5 session. Yes, they’ll have the game on!

Visit the new South Sound Estuarium in Olympia  10AM-3PM

I’ll have ideas up for a kid friendly New Year’s Eve in just a bit. You can take a peek at last year’s New Year’s post to get an idea of area happenings.
