Need something to do around the South Sound this  weekend? Here’s a list of events and activities with lots for your family to choose from!

South King County

 Touch tanks at HCC Mast at Redondo  Free and open to the public every Saturday from 10-2  ****You can still look at the critters in the tanks, but you cannot touch them currently because of concerns over a disease that has been affecting the sea stars.

 Got Princesses? Tree lighting, stories, and special guests at A Simple Wish in Puyallup Tickets 20.00 a person. Call for reservations  Times on Friday and Saturday; note that I haven’t checked availability
Puppets Please  marionette in the round show at Parkland/Spanaway at 10:30,Summit at 12, Lakewood, at 2, or UP at 3:30  Free, all ages puppet shows
Dickens carolers perform at the Bonney Lake Library at 11AM

The reindeer are in at Watson’s nursery in Puyallup Santa is there on the 20th from 12-5

See a Living Nativity at the Sunrise Village Shopping Center (Our friends from City Goat Farm and Zoo in Spanaway are helping with some of the, “Actors”). Wagon rides and diy Santa photos also available 3-6PM

Sleigh Rides and Santa at the Old Cannery in Sumner Visit with Santa and get a Free picture! Santa  is there on the  21st and 22nd. Horse drawn Carriage Rides are available on the  21st-22nd from 11am to 4pm. Note that the lines for Santa do get long, and although his regular hours are 11AM-4, they are often closed off by 1PM so Santa can make it back to his sleigh on time. Plan ahead and arrive early

Eatonville
Family matinee at the library 2PM
Santa visits area neighborhoods beginning at 4PM followed by open house at the station at 6PM with treats, caroling, and pictures
Tacoma/University Place/ South Tacoma/Lakewood
Train Festival begins at the Washington State History Museum   You could try getting a pass from your library for free admission, though they may be hard to come by. This is a fun event for your little train lovers, though it does get Very crowded, and there is lots that is just to look at. If you go, be sure to explore the other areas of the museum as well. Some special kids’ crafts and Santa visits this weekend, too.
Suggestion: If you have a Thomas fan, there is a free, Lego display at City Blocks in the bottom of Freighthouse Square. You can check that out, and then hop a free Link ride to the museum (park the car in the garage-also free).
Santa at the LeMay Museum Bring your camera and take a free picture, or they’ll take one for you and put it on Flickr for you to download. He’s on a vintage car instead of a sled.  Be sure to check out the pinewood derby track and other fun in the new Family Zone. Admission is spendy-you can save a few bucks with a canned food donation.

Gig Harbor/Kitsap

Santa flies in for a quick stop at the Hub restaurant at the Tacoma Narrows Airport10AM

Indoor fall farmer’s market  (old Peninsula Gardens site)

Build It! at the Gig Harbor Library 10AM Kids 0-11 are invited to drop in and build with the library’s Legos, Duplos, and other materials.

Visit Santa at Uptown in Gig Harbor 12-4
