 Touch tanks at HCC Mast at Redondo  Free and open to the public every Saturday from 10-2  ****You can still look at the critters in the tanks, but you cannot touch them currently because of concerns over a disease that has been affecting the sea stars.

Santa Breakfast in Auburn    Tickets are 5.00-8.00; advance purchase required-check on availability

Holiday high tea at the White River Valley Museum in Auburn 15.00 person  fancy tea event with sweet and savory treats; advance ticket purchase required

The reindeer are in at Watson’s nursery in Puyallup Santa is there on the 6th, 13th, and 20th from 12-5

See a Living Nativity at the Sunrise Village Shopping Center (Our friends from City Goat Farm and Zoo in Spanaway are helping with some of the, “Actors”). Wagon rides and diy Santa photos also available

Read with a Dog at the Puyallup Library Kids can drop in and practice reading stories to a canine buddy 2-3

Sleigh Rides and Santa at the Old Cannery in Sumner Visit with Santa and get a Free picture! Santa  is there on the 14th, 15th, and 21st and 22nd. Time for children with special needs from 9-11AM on the 15th. Horse drawn Carriage Rides are available on the weekends for 2013 on December 14th-15th and 21st-22nd from 11am to 4pm. Note that the lines for Santa do get long, and although his regular hours are 11AM-4, they are often closed off by 1PM so Santa can make it back to his sleigh on time. Plan ahead and arrive early

Pilgrim Lutheran Church produces The Best Christmas Pageant Ever Donations benefit youth minister Hobson in his fight against leukemia 4PM; dessert reception follows

Dickens Festival in the Stadium District Full day of fun with carriage rides, strolling entertainers in costume, and more

Salmon Saturday at Swan Creek Park  Children can see salmon returning to spawn; crafts and educational activities 10AM-2PM  free

Holiday Family Harp Concert at the Main branch of the Tacoma Library

Arctic Animal Celebration at the Point Defiance Zoo watch animals enjoy fishsickles and other special activities. Free with admission. Zoo admission is pricey; SFM recommends investing in an annual pass (maybe with Christmas money from the grandparents?) unless you can take advantage of monthly free days for City of Tacoma residents.  Note that daytime admission does not include Zoolights, although there is a package deal available.

Family Films at the Moore and Wheelock  Libraries 2PM It’s the Muppet Christmas Carol at Moore and Santa with Tim Allen at Wheelock Free, drop in event

Santa at the LeMay Museum  part of the grand opening of the new Family Zone. Bring your camera and take a free picture, or they’ll take one for you and put it on Flickr for you to download. Be sure to check out the pinewood derby track and other fun in the Family Zone. Admission is spendy-you can save a few bucks with a canned food donation. And, Shhhh….Santa may be giving away tickets for the slot track and other fun

Historic Christmas at Fort Steilacoom 4-7:30PM  Reenactors recreate an 1800s candlelit Christmas; children’s crafts 3.00 or 5.00 or 10.00/family

Children and all ages shows at the Pierce College Science Dome/planetarium

 Dupont/Lacey/Olympia

Gingerbread House Making at the Dupont Library All supplies provided. This is a free, drop in event at this location, but it is limited to materials available-Go Early!

Visit the new South Sound Estuarium  10AM-3PM

Olympia Family Theater presents Lyle the Crocodile (ongoing)

Historic Christmas Celebration at the state capitol museum in Olympia enjoy decorated mansion, petting zoo, pony rides, hay rides, and more – See more at:

Indoor fall farmer’s market  (old Peninsula Gardens site)

Visit Santa at Uptown in Gig Harbor

Free holly cuttings at Wilkison Farm Park in Gig Harbor While supplies last; ongoing

Santa at the Harbor History Museum Also Sunday; 12-4 Bring your camera and take a picture. Kids get free ornaments and candy canes

2.00 movie at the Galaxy in Gig Harbor  A fundraiser for the Jacox benevolence fund. Doors open at 9:30   All kid friendly titles

Gingerbread House Making at the Key Center Library All supplies provided; registration required. Lots of spots open at this location.

Pictures with Santa at the Log Cabin Museum in Port Orchard 11AM-3PM the 14th and 15th

Candlelit Christmas in the harbor holiday hayrides, music, and specially decorated shops in the harbor the 13th-15th lighted boat parade on the 14th

Wizard of Oz at Paradise theater  also Sunday
