Kids think ice and cold is fun? If slip sliding around is up their alley too, you’ll want to have them enter the annual coloring contest at Sprinker. Coloring pictures of mascots Blade and Icey can be picked up at the rink, and when kiddos turn them in they’ll receive a pass for free admission. Kids should be 3-12, and the offer is one per person.
You can get more information on the contest, plus skating times and more Sprinker news, right here.
Other ice skating is at the Polar Plaza in downtown Tacoma. Watch their Facebook page for discounts and info on special entertainment. Currently, the best deal is to get the family admission pack available through Costco (Look for info. at the Polar Plaza page under tickets).
There is no ice skating or faux ice skating at Pioneer Park in Puyallup this year, but there are also rinks in Kent at Valley Ice,and in Renton at Castle Ice. Both of these are on Groupon pretty often.
No matter where you go, it’s one of those things that’s tricker than it looks! You might want to consider helmets and investing in a few lessons. Or just take a few careful spins and you’ll have an excuse for a cocoa break!
