Put on your wading shoes!
This morning you can head to some of the last low tide events of the summer in Tacoma and Gig Harbor.
At these fun and free events you’ll see all kinds of critters revealed by low tide, and volunteers will be on hand to tell you about what you find!
Near Gig Harbor, you can join Harbor Wild Watch at the DeMolay sand spit (it’s on Fox Island) beginning at 9:30AM until 1:30, or head to Penrose Point or Kopachuck at the same times (you’ll need a Discover WA pass for those last two).
You can see more on the Harbor Wild Watch events tab.
If you’re closer to Tacoma, head to Owen Beach at Point Defiance for Explore the Shore!
As always, dress for mess, wear your sunscreen, and remind your kiddos to have good tidepooling manners.
Live somewhere else around the South Sound? I‘ve got a post right here on how to check the tide charts and make this a, “Do it yourself,” adventure. If you go, I’d love to hear what you find!
