It’s Back to School sale time at the Mega Brands Warehouse in Fife.
Never been? Mega Brands makes Mega Bloks branded toys and games, Rose Art art supplies and kits, and other goodies. The photo below is from their pre-Christmas sale. There May be some toys at this one, but the focus is definitely on art and school supplies.
Several times a year they open their warehouse in Fife for a big, public sale-and yes, you’re really in a warehouse.
I’ve found this one to be a little less, “Wow,” than the pre-Christmas events, but it’s worth a stop if you’re a teacher or home schooler, particularly if you don’t have the time or patience for other back to school sales.
The highlight for me last time was watercolor paint sets for .50 and a bag of Star Wars themed pencils that I think were also .50-maybe 1.00. I used the paints in stockings and Easter baskets, and I’ve used the pencils for goody bags, school valentines, and more (It was a Big bag)! Note that you’ll need cash. There is an ATM, but it has a high fee. I also recommend leaving the kids at home, and as with any Fife post, I’ll remind you to be mindful of the traffic cameras and the construction on 70th (both a total pain).
For more on these events, you can read this post. It’s about the holiday sale, but there are still some good tips.
If you’ve shopped this one, leave a comment and let us know what you found!
The sale is Thursday (today) 11:30-6:30 Friday 11:30-6:30 and Saturday 9-5:00 The address is 2511 70th Avenue E in Fife. There is construction pretty much right in front of it, and there is a traffic camera at the light. Do not make the free right without coming to a good, long stop first (Yes, I speak from experience), and be prepared to navigate some cones. You should see a sandwich board in front pointing to the sale.
Huge thanks to Angela from The Coupon Project for the reminder. One of you left this on the fb page ages ago, and I still managed to forget! Summer brain! Angela has lots of other good advice for shopping and saving for back to school. Be sure to check it out if you’re on a tight budget this year!
